Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 12, 2026
Stride is a run/walk interval trainer and symptom journal for runners returning from injury. This policy explains what data the app handles and, just as importantly, what it does not. In short: Stride is local-first, has no account system, and keeps no database of your personal health information on our servers.
Data stored on your device
Your interval programs, workout history, and symptom journal entries are stored locally on your device only, in an on-device database. This data does not leave your phone as part of normal use, and we cannot see it.
What is sent to our servers
Once a week, if you use the AI coach, a summary of your recent training load and symptom data is sent to Stride's backend to generate a recommendation. This request does not include your name, email address, or any account identifier, and it is not stored in a database on our servers — it is used to produce the response and then discarded.
Terms acceptance records
When you accept the app's terms, we keep a minimal, anonymous record so we have proof of consent. Each record contains a randomly generated, anonymous device identifier plus the terms version and a timestamp. It contains no health data and no other personal information, and the identifier is not tied to your name, email, or any account (there is no account).
Usage & diagnostics
To understand whether features work and are being used, Stride collects a small amount of anonymous, first-party usage and diagnostic data: which actions happened (for example, opening the app, starting or completing a workout, saving a journal entry, or running an AI recommendation), and, when the app hits an error, the error type and a short, truncated description with identifying details removed.
This data is tied only to the same randomly generated, anonymous device identifier described above — never to your name, email, or any account. It contains no health data: no symptom entries, pain scores, notes, or body-part information are ever included. It is stored only on our own servers, is not shared with any third party, and is not used to track you across other apps or services.
Subscriptions
Stride Pro subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat and the App Store, subject to their own privacy policies. Billing is processed by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Third-party services
The Stride app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. This website (where this policy is hosted) uses privacy-friendly, cookieless visitor analytics to count page views; it does not profile you or track you across other sites.
Your control over your data
Because your health data lives on your device, you are in control of it: deleting an entry in the app deletes it, and uninstalling Stride removes all locally stored data. A reinstall starts fresh with a new anonymous device identifier.
Children
Stride is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change what data Stride collects, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above.
